Hi! I'm Ms. McIntosh and I am the new librarian at Bradford Elementary. I have worked here the past five years as a teacher, and I am so excited to step into this new roll.
On this page, you can find resources that can be used at home for reading and learning as well as upcoming library/literacy events at Bradford.
Library Resources
Sora- This is a digital library that gives SAISD students access to thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines for free. It can be accessed from home, all you have to do is login with your child's SAISD credentials.
Destiny Discover- This will take you to the online catalog of the Bradford Elementary Library. Search for titles that are available for check out.
Storyline Online- A great resource created by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation that will give you and your child the opportunity to hear books read aloud by well-known actors and actresses. Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Epic!- Another online library that gives access to many free titles. Sign in with SAISD credentials.
Tom Green County Library System- We have an amazing library system in San Angelo!! We are lucky to have dedicated public librarians who run great children's programs. Visit their website to see what they have going on.
TexQuest- These are our student databases that we have access to through SAISD. You can find learning games, informative videos, awesome articles, and more in English and Spanish. To gain access to a database, choose San Angelo ISD as the school district and enter sanangelo as the password.
Texas Bluebonnet Reading List- Every year the Texas Library Association (TLA) releases a list of 20 outstanding books for 3rd-6th grade students. Take a look at the list to see if there's anything you and your child would be interested in reading!
Bluebonnet Reading Challenge Google Form- We are having a Bluebonnet reading challenge here at Bradford! All 3rd-5th graders are welcome to participate by reading books from the 2023-2024 reading list. If they read five titles by January, they will be invited to the voting party to vote for their favorite Bluebonnet book. The book that has the most votes from students in the state of Texas will win the Texas Bluebonnet Award.
2x2 Reading List- TLA creates this yearly reading list for children ages 2 to 2nd grade. There are some fun titles, check out the list and see!
Texas Topaz Reading List- TLA creates yearly lists of exceptional nonfiction titles for all ages. Click the link and look at the list for children and teens.
Little Maverick Reading List- TLA creates a yearly list of great graphic novels that are appropriate for grades K-5th. Find some fun titles for your comic-loving reader!
Tejas Star Reading List- TLA creates this yearly bilingual reading list for ages 5-12. This list helps children explore multicultural books and discover the cognitive and economic benefits of bilingualism and multilingualism.
