Twelve San Angelo ISD elementary students were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the San Angelo Fire Departments annual Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest, at the San Angelo ISD October Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees. October 6 through 12, SAISD 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students celebrated the week with visits from the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office, the San Angelo Fire Department, Sparky the Fire Dog and Goodfellow AFB - 17th Training Wing and created artwork to help their campus communicate important information about actions they can take to stay safe during a fire emergency. The artwork followed the theme of "Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!," highlighting the importance of ensuring smoke alarms function properly in order to provide the best possible protection for your home.
