On Wednesday, May 3rd, San Angelo ISD 2nd grade students received their very own copy of “Pig the Star” by Aaron Blabey and a fun activity donated by The United Way of the Concho Valley as part of their “United We Read” program, and in collaboration with with San Angelo ISD’s literacy initiative, San Angelo READS! Pig the Star, a story told in rhyme, teaches readers a valuable lesson about treating your friends with kindness.
With your needed, generous support through San Angelo Gives, San Angelo READS! will be able to continue our mission to serve the literacy needs of our students and greater community, and support reading in ways above and beyond lessons in classrooms.
San Angelo ISD teachers, staff, and administrators gathered the evening of Thursday, April 28th at the San Angelo Stadium for a district-wide, outdoor celebration of the accomplishments of the 2020-2021 school year, and honored staff for their service and contributions to the district.
San Angelo ISD is proud to announce Lena Rivera as this year's district Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Sylvia Graves as this year’s district Secondary Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Rivera teaches second grade at Fort Concho Elementary, and Mrs. Graves teaches the 18+ vocational program for SAISD.

The San Angelo Schools Foundation held their annual fundraising event “Bid & Boogie” on March 26th raising over $61,000 to go toward the Schools Foundation’s two major projects supporting San Angelo ISD: Grants to Teachers and Scholarships to Students. The San Angelo Schools Foundation was established in 1989 with the goal to support innovative academic opportunities for children of San Angelo ISD. SAISD extends our appreciation and gratitude to the members of the Schools Foundation for their hard work and dedication in putting together a great fundraising event, and commends the Schools Foundation’s long-standing support of public education.
